Why aren't you using this?

We spend a fair amount of time on the range. We are always testing the durability of our products and developing new ones.  With the accumulation of range time, comes the accumulation of dirty firearms. We have collected almost every known product to clean, lubricate and protect our firearms.  We have learned that there is a ton of snake oil out there in this market segment.  Very few products have earned the right of staying in our cleaning kits. Then we met Breakthrough Clean.

We saw their posts and claims on social media, but had never tried the products. We spent some time speaking with their group at SHOT Show this past January and were convinced to give them a try.  We traveled back with a few samples to use and after we hit the range, we did just that.

One of the first things we noticed, the solvent was virtually odorless.  How can this be?? Everything that works well, is pungent! We sprayed down the internals of a Glock 19 and the FCG of an AR.  Let it sit for a little while and began wiping.  Pretty crazy! It was dissolving the carbon and copper buildups just like a large name petroleum based product. With no nasty smell.

After everything was cleaned up, we used some of their grease on the AR and lubed up the Glock with their high purity oil.  Both seemed like they were great products, but we wanted to see how the firearms ran next time we shot. About a week passed before we hit the range again.  The BCG cycled great on the AR and zero problems with the Glock.  We stripped them down again for a good cleaning.  The second time around they seemed to clean easier.  Almost like they were protected from buildup. I know what you're thinking, yeah so? The "so" is odorless, non-carcinogenic and eco-friendly.That works.

We wanted to run one more test... Lets get the boss lady to use it!

We asked Layne to pull apart an AR and clean the BCG up on it, with no gloves and jewelry on.  A nervous smile accompanied a reluctant "ok..".

She pulled the BCG out of an AR with a few hundred rounds through it and sprayed it down with some solvent.

She loved the fact that it didn't have a foul or chemical-like odor.  She also noticed that the carbon came off as well as some of the other petroleum based products.

After a good wipe down, she applied some of the Battle Born HP oil and allowed that to settle in. She re-installed the BCG and wiped off her hands.  No residual smell, did not harm her jewelry and wasn't harsh on her hands. While this isn't a scientific test, the results are probably more of an indicator that it's a solid product, than not. No one would want to make the boss lady mad! In all seriousness, it makes cleaning firearms less of a hassle and a little more enjoyable.
